Light: Snake plants prefer bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can burn the plant and can cause their leaves to become limp. They tolerate shade but too little light stunts growth and dilutes color in their leaves.

Water: Water your snake plant when the soil is completely dry. Too frequent watering or allowing it to sit in water can cause root rot.

Soil: The best soil for your snake plant is a loose, well-draining mix.
